Hayley on Behalf of Tom Rowlands 9th March 2023

I Will Always Remember Thomas Alan Glyn Rowlands. I Sit and write with a heavy heart, Wipe a tear, Where do I start? Overwhelming heartache, sorrow and grief I put pen to paper… I cannot speak. The feeling of sadness begins to wash away, When I think of your fight and your strength each day. I can’t pick a story. So many memories, contenders So I think of the things that I will always remember… I will always remember your speeches your toasts, “Family is everything” is what you said most. Our Husband, our Brother, our Cousin, our Dad, Our Friend our Neighbour, our Hero… our Grandad. I will always remember your roses, your home. Holding your hand, singing you’ll never walk alone. “One for the road!” “Not another Glyn” You’d get away with it, with a smile and a grin. Glyn’s a great bloke, strangers would say, I met him once, He made my day. I’d puff out my chest, beaming and glad, And smugly declare… “that’s my Grandad”. I will always remember your neighbourhood watch, I will always remember your chair and your scotch. I will speak of you with pride and cheer, Toast a whiskey, And dry a tear. I will always remember the good, not the bad, It’s what you would want, Not sorrow or sad. I will always remember our family our bond, Family is together, And together is strong. I will always remember, I will never forget, I will miss you each day, But with joy, not upset.
